Madeline Jo ‘Maddie’ Brekke

Madeline Jo Brekke, age 20 of Hudson, passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2015.  Maddie was born March 13, 1995 in Stillwater, MN, the daughter of Judy and James Brekke.  She graduated from Hudson High School, the Class of 2013.  Maddie was a wonderful, compassionate soul that found pleasure in helping all people, especially those with special needs or disabilities.  Her caring was most evident in her work as a personal care attendant for Serving Hands, were she was employed.

She was a gifted artist who enjoyed sharing her intricate drawings with friends and family.  The people who knew her best describe Maddie as someone with endless creativity, which inspired those around her.  It was said some of her ideas were too big and too beautiful for this world, but they will live on forever.

Maddie will remain in the hearts of her parents, James and Judy Brekke; her grandmother, Ida Brekke; sister, Ellie; brother, Hank; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

A Visitation will take place from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 23rd at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 505 13th St., Hudson.  Funeral services will take place at 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 23rd at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Larry Szyman officiating.  Private interment will take place at a later date.

Memorials can be made to the family, or NAMI of St. Croix Valley Inc., National Alliance for Mental Illness, in Maddie’s name.
