Margaret Mary Ehman

Margaret Mary Ehman, age 82 of North Hudson, passed away on September 29, 2026. A breast cancer survivor for more than 15 years, she also faced heart and kidney failure with remarkable strength and determination, including nearly four years of dialysis.

Margaret’s life was filled with the people and things she enjoyed most. In her younger years, she was a regular on Wednesday nights at the River Falls Roller Rink. That’s where she met the love of her life, Sheldon “Shorty” Ehman. Together for 61 years, they recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. She enjoyed bowling and took special delight in beating her husband. She loved going to the casino, playing Bingo, reading, playing the piano, and doing embroidery. She looked forward to having her garage sales in the Spring and Fall.

Nothing brought Marge more joy than time spent with children and family. She ran an in-home daycare for many years and treasured every chance to cheer on her grandchildren at sporting events, dance recitals, and concerts. Her wonderful sense of humor made gatherings brighter, and she had a gift for making people feel included and celebrated. That same kindness extended beyond her family. Marge loved hosting parties for her foster brother Mikey and his friends with intellectual and developmental disabilities, creating joyful occasions with cards, games, cake, and ice cream. These acts of care reflected the heart of who she was: someone who noticed others, reached out, and made sure people felt remembered and loved.

Her Catholic faith was important to Marge, who was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and regularly attended Mass.

She is survived by her husband, Sheldon “Shorty” Ehman; son, Dominic (Susan); daughters, Monica and Molly; grandchildren, Ashley, Gabriella, Matthew, and Amelia, who were a constant source of pride and happiness in her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ludwig and Margaret Huelsman; grandchild Peyton; and her foster brother, Mikey Dillon.

Visitation 5-8 PM with a 7 PM rosary Tuesday October 6 at O’Connell Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St. Hudson and 9-10 AM at church Wednesday morning. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Wednesday October 7 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St. Hudson. Interment St. Michael’s Cemetery in Bayport, MN.
