Margaret Ann Lloyd

Oct 2, 1938 — Aug 31, 2026

Hudson, WI

Margaret Ann (Hiscutt) Lloyd, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, at Christian Community Homes (CCH) in Hudson, Wisconsin, with her children by her side.

Margaret was born on October 2, 1938, in Darlington, County Durham, England, daughter of Stanley and Margery Hiscutt. After graduation she began her career in the filing and mail department at Hoffman Manufacturing, where the company sponsored her attendance at technical college while she continued working. After completing her studies and mastering shorthand, typing, and other office skills, she discovered her true passion as a telephone switchboard operator—a position she fondly remembered as the job she truly enjoyed.

On April 2, 1960, she married Ronald Lloyd in Chelmsford, Essex, England. They began their life together in England before moving to the United States in 1966. For the next seven years, she supported her husband throughout his 20 years of military service, embracing the moves, challenges, and sacrifices that came with being a military family. They were blessed with three children, two born in England and one in the USA.

Following Ron's retirement from the Air Force, they settled in Fairmont, Minnesota, to raise their family. In 1975, Margaret started working for optometrist Dr. Albert, in the Fair Mall Shopping Center, serving as an optician. She continued to work for Midwest Vision Center until 1988 when they moved to Hudson, WI. She transferred to Midwest Vision Center in Stillwater, Minnesota, where she continued until her retirement.

Margaret enjoyed watching birds, all Minnesota sports teams, PGA golf, auto racing, a good book, a really challenging crossword puzzle, and a great cup of British tea.

She is survived by her children, Sandra (Preston) Andersen of Fairmont, MN, David Lloyd of North Hudson, WI, and Debra (Jay) Rabbe of Trimont, MN; her grandchildren, Christoffer (Susan) Andersen, Nicholas Andersen, and Tristan Rabbe; and her great-granddaughter, Harper. Siblings Howard (Jill) Hiscutt; sisters, Mary (Roy) Britten and Linda Barnes, all of England; brothers-in-law, Jerrald (Kathy) Lloyd of Fairmont, MN, Bill Lloyd of Lakeville, MN, and Gerald Neal of Arkansas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; her parents, Stanley and Margery Hiscutt; her brother, Trevor Hiscutt; her sister, Jean Andrews; her sister-in-law, Janice Neal; her brothers-in-law, Harry Barnes and Lucky Lloyd; her father-in-law, Willie Lloyd; her mother-in-law, Erma Lloyd; and her husband’s step-father, Leonard Madetzke.

Margaret’s family wishes to thank CCH Nursing Home and St. Croix Hospice for their dedicated care. We owe a special debt of gratitude to her Hospice Team, Kacie, Maddie, and Chaplain Brittany, for keeping her children in constant contact, ensuring her comfort, and providing us with continued support today.

Margaret’s urn will be interred within the gravesite of her husband, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery during a private family service.
