Margaret Edna Norris age 80 of Lakeland, MN passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Marge was born on July 7, 1945 in River Falls, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Raymond and Violet Scott.
Marge graduated from River Falls high school in 1963. She then went to St. Paul School of Beauty on 7th street in St. Paul, MN. She and Audrey had to walk to Ritter School of Beauty for cutting class, after completing 1200 hours! They graduated in 1964 and were life-long friends.
Then one fine day in Hudson a good-looking former sailor by the name of Tom Norris chased her down the highway, until he got her to stop. He was sure that “Scotty” was the girl for him. Once stopped, he asked her on a date. She said “no”, and headed to River Falls. Tom followed and he must have said the right things because on September 3, 1966, she said “I do”.
Their married life together began. They welcomed Tammie Jo in 1967, Rick in 1969, and Bridgette in 1974. Marge managed the family, the beauty shop and Tammie Jo’s special needs with love, efficiency and grace.
Her beauty shop was a place for friends to gather, but it also allowed her to care for her family between hair sets, laughter, and coffee, she also provided care for Tammie Jo. Her customers (I would call them friends) supported her commitment to Tammie Jo, and were happy to continue frequenting the beauty shop for years to come.
In 1999 Marge was given a HUGE promotion! She became the best Grandma ever, and this was her favorite role so far! First came Tom Tom, then K-K and lastly Jimmers.
She loved those babies up! Most often on Sundays at Grandma’s, three little heads could be found in her kitchen as she prepared a family dinner for all of the family. Those three never strayed far from their fun, loving grandma.
Marge continued running her beauty shop until about eight years ago when her dementia began to disrupting the day-to-day operations. Slowly as dementia does, she was robbed of her voice, but we found a way to meet her where she was. Peanut became a constant in mom‘s life, allowing Rick a communication tool that brought joy and comfort to Marge in her last years.
On Saturday, December 6, a very special meeting took place. Great grandma met her great grandson Anthony for the first time. After three weeks of being so exhausted that she was only awake for 15 to 30 minutes at a time, she managed to stay awake for two hours. Her smile reached her eyes and many times she exclaimed with her expression look at this!!! I have a new great grandbaby! She held him, comforted him the best she could and kissed the top of his head.
As we all know, babies are the world to Mrs. Marge Norris.
Marge will remain close in the hearts of her beloved family and friends: husband Tom Norris; her son Rick (Theresa) Norris; grandchildren Tommy (Brynn) Norris, Jimmy (Lauren) Norris, McKayla (Mike) Chapin; great grandson Anthony Eide; honorary granddaughter Ella Praschak; best friends Sue Rohl, Cathy Chavez, and Audrey Kauphusman; many cousins, nieces and nephews on the Johnson/ Scott family side; sisters/brother-in-law’s, niece and nephews on the Norris family side; and her family at Pine Ridge Gardens @ CCH.
She will be greeted in heaven by her beloved daughters Tammie Jo and Bridgette; her parents Raymond and Violet Scott, and her Brother Leon Scott.
Also, she is sharing some special time with her best friend Betty VanNess.
Service will be held on December 21, 2025 at O’Connell’s funeral home at 520 11th Street South, Hudson, WI 54016. Visitation at 12:00 P.M., service at 1:00 P.M. with a luncheon to follow.
Special thank you to Theresa her soon to be daughter-in-law for nurturing her and showering her with continuous love, to Pine Ridge/Gardens for becoming Marge’s family and caring for her as if she was your mother or grandmother. And to Lakeview hospice for also embracing Marge as family. Words are not enough to express our gratitude.
