Marge Rasmussen

d. July 30, 2017

Marjorie “Marge” Rasmussen (Swenson), age 95, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2017.

Marge was born on February 4, 1922 to Chester and Nellie Swenson in Roberts, WI. She was united in marriage to Arnold Sittlow and together they were blessed with 6 children. After Arnold’s passing, Marjorie found love and compassion in Clyde Rasmussen and they were united in marriage on June 20, 1980. Marge worked at Nelson’s Super Valu, as a crossing guard, and at the Farmer’s Elevator in Baldwin. She then worked for 3M as a cost accountant until her retirement.

Marjorie enjoyed baking bread along with gardening and canning fruits and vegetables. She was fond of needle point and was an excellent seamstress. Marge loved to sing a good tune and dance to her favorite music; she would often go dancing on the weekends with her husband. She appreciated a good round of Bingo. Marjorie had an enormous heart and was always welcoming, gracious and compassionate to everyone she met. She was a social butterfly and was loved by many due to her infectious smile. She never complained and worked hard for everything she had.

Marjorie is survived by her 6 children; Janice (Dave) Trebesch of Hudson, WI, Jerry (Colleen) Sittlow of Somerset, WI, Mike (Darlene) Sittlow of Roberts, WI, Dan (Kathy) Sittlow of Dayton, NV, Roxanne (Wayne) Tunheim of Baldwin, WI, Deb (Jim) Richard of Hudson, FL; many grandchildren and great-grand children; nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Sis Nisen of Baldwin, WI; special friends Linda Sittlow and Peter Nisen and many more friends. She is also survived by the Clyde Rasmussen family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arnold Sittlow; second husband, Clyde Rasmussen; sister and brother-in-law, Goldie and Harold Pitcher; son-in-law, Tom Marcott; grandson, Matthew Blok; and great-granddaughter, Claire Sittlow.

A special thanks to the Baldwin Care Center staff for their support and care during Marjorie’s stay with them.
