Marian Samuel

Marian M. Samuel, age 88, of St. Croix Falls, WI, formerly of Hudson, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 15, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Croix Falls.

Marian was born on May 24, 1926 on the family farm in Beldenville, WI to Lars and Clara (Dumond) Larson.

She was united in marriage to Robert “Ole” Samuel on October 2, 1944 at the Trinity Parsonage, east of Ellsworth, WI. Their marriage would be blessed with eight children: Charlotte, Janet, Judy, Dale, David, Michael, Lowell, and Jean.

Marian loved her family and enjoyed being a grandma and great-grandma. She was known for her baking, and whenever you walked into her home, you could smell bread or cookies baking in the oven. She enjoyed embroidery and tending to her garden. She was also the American Legion Auxiliary President. Marian had a strong faith and loved attending church on Sundays, as well as participating in church events and groups.

Marian will remain in the hearts of her children: Janet (Wes) Noyes of Stillwater, MN, Judy (Gary) Sigsworth of Clayton, WI, Dale (Judy) Samuel of Hersey, WI, David (Annette) Samuel of Spring Brook, WI, Michael Samuel of Roberts, WI, Lowell Samuel of Three Forks, MT, and Jean Jacobson of St. Paul, MN; goddaughters, Deanna Gruber and Lou Ann Davidson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Lola Schingledecker of Ellsworth, WI, Anna Schingledecker of Solon Springs, WI, and Maxine Johnson of Ellsworth, WI; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Ole” Samuel; infant daughter, Charlotte; her parents; and 2 brothers.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, WI. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1205 Sixth St., Hudson, WI with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Interment at Hartland Cemetery in Ellsworth, WI.
