Marie Jensen

Marie C. Jensen, age 73 of Houlton, passed away August 8, 2018 at the Estates at Greeley Care Center in Stillwater, MN.

Marie was born on June 8, 1945 in Rhinelander, WI, to parents Joseph and Theresa (Pospychala) Terzynski. She graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1963, and was united in marriage to Jerome “Jerry” Jensen on September 19, 1975 in St. Paul, MN. Marie worked as a Testing Technician for Northwestern Bell for 20 years and helped with communications at the Minnesota State Fair for 10 years.

Marie enjoyed shopping for bargains and visiting thrift stores with her friends Carol and Shirley. She made a habit of looking through the Sunday newspaper ads for the best deals. She loved decorating her home for the holidays, crafting and needlepoint projects, and cooking with her friend Quan. Marie cherished the time she spent with family and friends, and was a past volunteer at the Hudson Senior Center.

Marie will remain in the heart of her husband of 42 years, Jerome; her sister, Joan (Donald) DeGeest; step-daughter, Kim (Michael) Carey; grandchildren, Cody and Bridget Carey; nephews, Gregory, Douglas (Elaine), Jeffrey (Teresa, Timothy, and Michael (Kelly); many cousins and special friends. She is preceded in death by her nephew, Christopher (Cory); her parents and  step-father, Wells Wentworth.

A memorial service celebrating Marie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials are preferred to Lakeview Hospice or to benefit the staff at the Estates at Greeley.
