Marigene Sue Svec

Marigene Sue Svec of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026.

Marigene was born on December 28, 1945, in Red Wing, Minnesota, to Eugene and Joyce Svec. She grew up in Ellsworth and graduated from Ellsworth High School. She later attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where she studied Social Sciences. Following her education, she dedicated more than 25 years of her life to serving others through her work as a social worker in the Eau Claire area.

Family was important to Marigene throughout her life. She was blessed with 3 children and 8 grandchildren who brought her much joy.

Marigene is survived by her sister, Jodi Cartier; her sons, Paul (Carla) Boatman and Scott (Dawn) Boatman; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Joyce Svec; her sister, Jerilyn Svec; and her son, Brent Boatman.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at O'Connell Family Funeral Home, 130 N. Grant Street, Ellsworth, Wisconsin.
