Marion A Olson

Marion A. Olson, age 100 of Hudson, passed away July 1, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 27, 1926, in Redwood Falls, MN, the daughter of John and Louisa (Alex) Schmid. Marion grew up and attended school in Redwood Falls, MN.  Later, she moved to St. Paul, MN with her family. She graduated from Wilson High School in St. Paul. In 1946 she and Bill Olson were married. They made their home in Hudson. Marion’s first job was a telephone operator in Hudson. For many years she worked as an X-ray Tech and Mammography Tech in St. Paul, Tucson, River Falls and Hudson. 

She loved sewing. Making Christmas stockings was her favorite. She also embroidered and did needlepoint. Marion collected recipes and enjoyed cooking for many family gatherings. Her family meant everything to her.

Preceding her in death were her son Tom; former husband Bill; and siblings Clarence, Leo, Floyd, Alice, Bernard, and an infant brother Anthony.

She is survived by three children Bob (Kathy), Jim (Sue), and Peggy Reitano; seven grandchildren Jessica, Lisa (Jay), Chris (Jodi), Bill (Aimee), John, Phil, and Nick; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM, Wednesday, July 8th with visitation 10 AM-11 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Hudson. Interment church cemetery. Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
