Marjorie Laverne (Krueger) Strate, age 98, of Roberts, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at her home on March 25, 2026.

She was born on October 15, 1927, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Raymond and Lorna (Urtel) Krueger. Marge grew up with strong values of faith, family, and service—principles that would guide her throughout her life.

On May 5, 1951, she was united in marriage to Russel Strate. Together, they built a life centered on love, devotion, and family, creating a warm and welcoming home that touched the lives of many.

Marge was a woman of deep and abiding faith. She was a devoted and active member of Hammond United Methodist Church in Hammond, Wisconsin, where she served faithfully for many years. She shared her love of faith as a Sunday school teacher, inspiring generations of children. Her commitment to service extended beyond her local church as she served as President of the World Gospel Mission (WGM) for Minnesota/Wisconsin, where she helped provide sponsorships and housing for missionaries around the world.

She was known for her generous spirit, kind heart, and genuine interest in others. Marge made friends easily and treasured time spent in fellowship and community. She was actively involved in homemaker’s groups and took great pride in her role as a homemaker.

Marge found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. She loved gardening and flowers, spending time on the farm, and preserving the harvest by canning fruits and vegetables. She will be especially remembered for her famous cinnamon bread, a cherished tradition during holidays and family gatherings that brought comfort and joy to those she loved.

Above all, Marge was devoted to her family. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Joel (Michelle Weinzirl, Myles & Masen Walker) Strate; daughter, Lynn Strate; grandchildren, Jacob (Rainey Mack) Pavlo, Alex Pavlo, Tawnya (Brad) Cran, and Jonathan (Whitney) Strate; great-grandchildren, Oliver Cran, Riley Cran, Jamison Strate, Evan Strate, and Kami Strate; and cherished members of her extended family, and many beloved friends.

She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Russel Strate; her parents, Raymond, and Lorna Krueger; her sons, Daniel Strate, and Arlen (Laurie) Strate.

A memorial service for Marge will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at The Grove United Methodist Church in Woodbury, Minnesota. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 12:00 noon. Burial will take place immediately following the service at The Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
