Mark A. Bergman passed away suddenly at age 66, surrounded by his loving family, on February 22, 2026.
He was born April 9, 1959, and grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, where he graduated from the University of Iowa as a proud Hawkeye.
He is survived by his best friend, soulmate, and the love of his life, his wife, Debbie Bergman; his children, Tonya, Wally (Jennifer), Mike (Michaela), and Chris (fiancée Sara); his grandchildren, Ethan, Gracie, Lanie, Michael, Rowan, and Aria; his great-grandchildren, Oliver and Tez; and his brothers-in-law, Mark, Steve, and Ricky, along with many beloved family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Phyllis Bergman of Des Moines, IA, and two beloved grandchildren, Leslie and Denver, who were there to welcome him home.
Mark felt most at home on the water, in the mountains, and with the wind in his hair, with his family by his side. Mark and Debbie were married in Golden, Colorado, and later made their home in Hudson, Wisconsin, in 2001.
Mark enjoyed a successful career in sales, where he helped and enriched the lives of so many. He was a warm, gentle spirit and had a magnetic personality that drew people in, creating countless cherished friendships. If you were Mark's friend, you had a loyal friend for life!!!
Mark was also a trusted source for the best lunch spots in town and a great person to share a meal with.
Mark shared a special bond with his second best friend, Kuba 🐾 , who was never far from his side. Mark was, without a doubt, his emotional support human.
Mark's love, kindness, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life for Mark will be held on Monday, March 2, 11am, at Shepherd of the Valley Church, 14107 Hudson Road South, Afton, MN, with a one hour visitation prior and luncheon after. Following the luncheon, all who wish to continue celebrating Mark's life are invited to gather at West Wind Restaurant, 709 N Main St, River Falls WI, to raise a glass, share stories, and honor his memory together. Complimentary lemonade and coffee will be served in honor of Mark's love for lemonade.
