Marketta "Kate" Lena Kent

Marketta “Kate” Lena Kent (nee Rahko) of Hudson, WI passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 90. Preceded in death by husband John, parents Antti and Helmi, brother Tuomo. Survived by her beloved son, Harry (Kelly) Langdon; grandchildren Mary (Bashier) Langdon-Elfergani and Gina Langdon; brother Heikki (Hanna); sister-in-law Anna-Karin (Tuomo) and a niece and nephew.

Born in Finland, Marketta eventually was able to come to America when she was 20 years old where she was fortunate to stay with a much-loved aunt who lived in Boston, MA. After a few years, Marketta traveled to Southern California, where she met her first husband and photographer Harry Langdon Jr. Together, they welcomed their son, Harry the 3rd. Although their marriage eventually dissolved, Marketta’s love for her son remained a constant source of joy in her life.

With many skills both innate and earned by education, Marketta found many jobs in interior design as well as in business and accounting which led her to eventually help run a successful business selling luxury yachts in the San Francisco Bay Area with her second husband John.

Marketta lived a very rich and fulfilling life by anyone’s standards and will be greatly missed by both her family and friends.

Private family services will be held at a later date in Southern California.
