It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marvin Martin Ferg. Marvin, age 84, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 21, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. His final moments were filled with the same warmth and love that he so generously gave throughout his life.
Marvin was born on September 15, 1941 to Martin and Alda (Zillmer) Ferg in Baldwin, WI. Marvin was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Woodville. He spent his childhood living on a farm outside of Glenwood City where he developed a strong work ethic and deep appreciation for family and simple joys. He and his family moved around the area and finally settled in Roberts, WI. Marvin was the eldest of seven children. He graduated from Saint Croix Central High School in 1959.
Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Navy as a helmsman on the Aircraft Carrier, U.S.S. Randolph. His time in the Navy was a chapter of honor and dedication that he carried with him throughout his life.
After returning from the Navy, Marvin met and fell in love with Eileen Glaser. They were married on June 28th, 1969 at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Hudson, WI. They built a home together in Roberts while focusing on building a family and being a part of the community.
Marvin was a devoted husband and proud father of two daughters, and he cherished being “Papa” to his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchild just as deeply. Family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent together.
Marvin supported his family as a truck driver for the Fritz Candy company for 35 years. When he retired in 2004 he developed a love for riding his scooters, traveling, attending airshows, listening to music and putting together puzzles. He could often be found at the Roberts cafe on weekday mornings “solving world problems” over a hot coffee with the local farmers.
He found happiness in both quiet moments and lively gatherings. His sense of humor, laugh and smile could brighten any room. He was funny, caring, loving, and genuine. A man whose kindness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents: Martin and Alda Ferg, brothers: David, Richard, Roger; infant sister and brother-in-law Robert Frye.
Marvin remains in the hearts of his wife and soulmate Eileen (Glaser) Ferg; daughters: Latischa Ferg and Michelle (Matthew) Adams; grandchildren: Brenden (Brittney) Ferkans, Joshua (Morgan) Ferkans, Madelyn Adams and Aiden Adams; great grandchild Callan Ferkans; siblings: Daniel (Juanita) Ferg, (Betty) Ferg and Marlys Frye; niece Rebeca Frye and nephew Ryker Ferg.
Funeral services to be held at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 2526 80th Ave. Woodville, WI 54028 on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 1pm with lunch to follow. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the many memories he leaves behind and the love that continues to surround us.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Adoray Hospice and O’Connell Funeral Home for their compassionate care and services.
