Mary M. “Markee” Bourget, age 95 of Hudson, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Born December 8, 1919, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to parents Herbert and Hazle (Swan) Keefe. Mary was a graduate of Derham Hall High School, and furthered her education at St Catherine University where she earned her Bachelors degree in the majors of English and French, and minored in business.  Mary worked as a copywriter for the Erwin Wasey Advertising Agency in New York, New York. On February 16, 1946, Mary would be united in marriage to Dr. Gerald Edward Bourget. Their union in marriage would be blessed with five children. Dr. Bourget preceded her in death in 1977.

Mary was a devoted wife and mother who gave of herself to her family, her faith, and to others in the Hudson community. She was an avid reader who enjoyed opera and plays, and was supportive of the arts in the St. Croix Valley, through organizations such as The Phipps Center for the Arts. Mary served as the third president for the Hudson Hospital Auxiliary, and as a Hudson Public Library Board Chair for eleven years. Her life leaves a legacy of love, caring, and friendship for her family, her friends, and her community to cherish.

Mary is survived by her children: daughters, Anne Bourget, Jeanne (Eric Tabb) Bourget, and Helene (Elizabeth Sullivan); and sons, Philip Bourget, and Paul (Lisa) Bourget; grandchildren, Charles Bourget, Marie Bourget, and Gerald Bourget; nieces and nephews, Laura, Janet, Caroline, Maureen, Daniel, Timothy, John, and William; and cousin, Barbara Cecil. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Gerald Bourget; her parents; brothers, Philip Keefe and John Keefe; and sister, Patricia (Robert) Ryan.

Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Bourget will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 6, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine Street in Hudson, Wisconsin, with Rev. Fr. John Gerritts officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will take place at the Willow River Cemetery of Hudson, Wisconsin. Memorials honoring Mary may be directed to either Wintergreen or St. Catherine University. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, Wisconsin. 715-386-3725
