Mary J. Cormican

Mary Jane Cormican, age 77 of Emerald WI, died on January 1, 2015 at the Mayo Clinic and Hospital in Menomonie WI. Mary was born September 27, 1937 in Springbrook WI to parents James William and Sybil Adeline (Burdick) Elliott. On September 26, 1963 in Footville WI, Mary would be united in marriage to Walter D. Cormican. Their marriage would be blessed with seven children. Walt would precede her in death in 1996.

Mary was a great mom, grandma, and great-grandma. She was a strong little lady who was spunky and full of life, yet gentle and generous to a fault. She was most in her element when she was outdoors, fishing and camping. Mary also enjoyed baking bread, gambling, and crafting. Her friends and family will miss her many crazy hats, and her love for Halloween.

Mary is survived by her children, David (Sherry) Elliott, Penny (George Frazer) Klatt, Debbie Ruscher, Ann (Allan) Prinsen, Kenny (Faith) Cormican, Daniel Cormican, and Allen (Theresa) Cormican; her ‘number 5 son’, Randy; 18 grandchildren; her ‘practice granddaughter’, Cicely; 18 great-grandchildren with another due any day; sisters, Betty Jarvis, Effie Kaufman, and Mona (Ray) Schneidewent; brother-in-law, Ray Norlander; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt Cormican; grandsons, Matthew Lee Prinsen, and Brandon Michael Klatt; great-granddaughter, Zoe Marie Burns; her parents; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers.

A Memorial Celebration of Life for Mary Cormican will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton Street in Baldwin. Visitation will be from 11:00am until the start of the service. Burial will be held at a later date.
