Mary Lewis, born on January 5th, 1942 in River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away on December 4, 2019 in Scottsdale, Arizona after a very brief illness. The 6th of 8 children of William and Marie Linehan, Mary grew up in Hudson, Wisconsin on her family’s dairy farm where she worked very hard to contribute and help her mother care (cooking & cleaning etc.) for her family.
She graduated from Hudson High School in 1960, all the while continuing to care for her family. She married in 1962. In addition to caring for her son and daughter, she continued to work several part time jobs. Due to her husband’s work, she moved to Texas, Minnesota (where her second son was born), San Francisco and eventually to Georgia. In the early 90’s she began working full time at Rich’s (Macy’s) department store as a department manager. She retired after 15 years. She then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where she lived with her oldest son and his family.
She is survived by her three children, Tim, Kelli, and Jeff; their spouses, Cindy, Bill and Sue; and her grandchildren, Tim Jr., Megan, Katie, Eric, Emma, Anna, Maddie, Jay and Daniel. She will also be missed by her two great grandchildren, Bear and Maisie, with a third great grandson due in April.
She was passionate about her family and planned her year around visiting. She got together with her brothers, Bob, Don, Butch and Jack several times a year. She attended as many sports games of her grandchildren as possible, where she was always the loudest fan. She loved holidays and took great pleasure in decorating her house and sending cards to all of her loved ones. She was the most thoughtful person, and she never forgot anyones birthday. She always made sure her loved ones felt special.
There will be a visitation at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson, WI on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00am, with a mass of Christian Burial following at 12:00pm at church.
Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family.
Mary will be greatly missed by her family.
