Mary Marcou

Mary Therese Marcou, age 83, of Hudson, WI,  formerly of Afton, MN, passed away on September 25, 2014 at the Hudson Hospital.

Mary was born on September 27, 1930 in Wabasha MN to Francis and Vincenza (Costello) Graner. She attended grade school in Kellogg, MN and graduated from Wabasha High School.

In 1953, she was united in marriage to her best friend, Douglas Ray Marcou at the catholic church in Kellogg. They were blessed with one son, Doug.

Together, Mary and Doug ran the Minnetonka Boat Works Marina in Afton, MN for many years.

Her family and her faith were most important to her, as she said the rosary everyday. She was a lover of her springer spaniels, and enjoyed spending time outdoors on the St. Croix River, and gardening. She was a cordial, friendly woman who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her husband, Doug of Hudson, WI; son, Doug of Colfax, WI; brother James (Magdeline) Graner of Kellogg, MN; and sister-in-law, Ellie Graner of Kellogg, MN. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Leo Graner and William Graner.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson, WI with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the family.
