Houlton

Maureen Boesel, 79, of Houlton, Wisconsin, passed away on July 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted wife, mother, sister, and dedicated daughter to Marge and Harold “Bud” Best, Maureen lived her life with a tenderness and patience that made everyone around her feel seen and cared for. A kinder soul you will not find. She fell in love with her future husband, Len Boesel Jr., in the 8th grade, beginning a lifelong partnership that grew into more than 60 years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and quiet, steady love.

Born and raised in Stillwater, she graduated from Stillwater High School in 1964, beginning a life filled with creativity, service, and gentle resilience.

She was an executive assistant for 3M for ten years, organized outings for the Stillwater School District bringing joy to countless events, and worked as a paraprofessional for Hudson Schools.

Maureen found joy in the simple comforts of life — tending her garden, cheering on her sons in the things they were passionate about, watching the Minnesota Twins with Len, settling in for Hallmark movies, and playing cribbage together, a game that brought them countless shared moments over the years. She was also known for her beautiful, handwritten poetry, custom pieces she crafted for loved ones, each one a treasure of her gentle artistry. Her handwriting itself was elegant and unmistakable — flowing, careful, and filled with love, turning each poem into a keepsake.

Maureen’s greatest joy was her family, who will forever carry her love forward.

She is survived by her husband, Len Boesel Jr.; her sons Jerry (Tracy) Boesel and Kerry (Rachel) Boesel; her sister Barb Philipp; and her grandchildren: Ashley (Brandon) Jensen, Casey (Tyler Robinson) Dierks, Niky Dierks, Dalton Boesel, Cody (Rylie) Boesel, Sean Boesel, Ken Boesel, Carson Smith. Great grandchildren Avery and Cooper Jensen; Hadley and Waylon Boesel; Maya, Theodore, Turner, and Tripp Robinson.

She leaves behind extended family of cousins and nieces who cherished her deeply.
