Mavis L. Siegel

Mavis L. Siegel, age 97, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2022. She was born on May 13, 1925 in Emerald, Wisconsin to John and Gina (Haugland) Johnson. Mavis was united in marriage to Paul Siegel. They raised four children; Paula “Penny”, Cynthia, Ronald “Rick”, and Gina.

At a young age Mavis and the Johnson family moved from Emerald to Hudson, WI. Hudson is where Mavis attended school, made many friends, got married and raised her own family. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker. She absolutely adored her children, and the others she cared for through the years. Being part of a large family was a blessing to Mavis. Throughout adulthood she remained close to her siblings and frequently met with them for lunch or coffee. Her optimism and spunky personality never dulled, and she enjoyed every day she spent with the people in her life. Her grandchildren Brian and Kate held a very special place in her heart. Mavis’s sharp wit and loving nature will be missed by all who knew her.

Mavis is survived by her children: Paula “Penny” Randall, Ronald “Rick” (Joan) Siegel, and Gina Nilsen; grandchildren: Brian (Jill) Siegel, Kate (Steve) Odom, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul; daughter, Cindy; son-in-law, Jon Nilsen; parents John and Gina Johnson; sisters: Josephine Hayes, Florence Keyes, Violet Neubarth, Marion Barker, Delores Vogt, Bette Iverson; brothers: Gordon Johnson, Maynard Johnson, and Curtis Johnson.

Services for Mavis will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. Eleventh St., Hudson, Wisconsin, 54017, with visitation beginning 30 minutes prior to the service. The service will be livestreamed (Click here) . Interment at Willow River Cemetery will follow the service.

Memorials are preferred to the family.
