Melanie Thompson, age 64 of Eau Claire passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born August 3rd, 1961 to Ken Lashley and Carol Ingersoll.
Melanie was a warm-hearted woman who was known as a wonderful conversationalist. She had a gift for listening, sharing, and connecting with people, and her presence made everyone feel welcome. She loved animals of all kinds and found great joy in watching the birds outside her window and the butterflies that fluttered through her garden. Melanie delighted in the beauty of nature, she enjoyed watching the deer, fox and birds out her window in the woods.
She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending time with her husband, listening to country music, and appreciating the quiet, peaceful moments that meant the most. Melanie’s life was filled with love, kindness, and joy, and she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and gentleness.
She is survived by her father, Ken Lashley; her brother, Roger Lashley; her sisters, Peggy Lashley, Tracy Volkenant; her children, Cassandra Thompson, and Melissa Thompson; 9 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, and her dog Widget. She was preceded in death by her mother Carol Ingersoll, and son, Kenneth Lashley.
A Graveside Service for Melanie will be held on Friday September 5th, 2025 at 3:00pm at Greenwood Cemetery River Falls.
Melanie’s life touched many, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
