Michael Lee Glenna, age 29, resident of River Falls, WI passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 28, 2022 at his residence in River Falls. Michael was born to parents Marvin and Dawn (Finke) Glenna on April 1, 1992. He attended River Falls High School, and after graduating in 2011, he went on to continue his education at Wyotech in Laramie, WY. He graduated with an Associate’s degree in Diesel Mechanics and a minor in Chassis Building. Michael currently worked at Loparex in Hammond, WI as a welder/fabricator in addition to running his own custom fabrication shop from home.
You would often find Michael in his shop working on his latest creation/project. Diesel, his best friend and “Shop Supervisor”, was always by his side. As hard-working as he was, Michael would always be the first to point out it “looked like rain” outside so he could take advantage of the perfectly sunny day with friends and family. Michael looked forward to Game Night and never turned down the opportunity to play euchre with his grandparents and brother, or a game of Catan, poker, bowling, darts, and shooting pool with friends at Big Horn. There was never a shortage of healthy smack-talking (and he was always happy to help by notifying you when it was your turn). There were many snowmobiling adventures with his closest friends, and he eagerly awaited each season’s first snow. One activity Michael found the most solitude was hunting. He’d say, “I’d rather be in the deer stand thinking about God, than at church thinking about the deer stand.” Michael was kind, thoughtful, selfless, honest, and touched countless peoples’ lives. To know him was to love him.
Michael will remain in the hearts of his loving parents, Marvin and Dawn; brother, Brandon; girlfriend, Andi Long; grandparents, Dennis Glenna, Lori Glenna, and Marlene and Bill Finke; great-grandmother, Marlys Hudson; aunts, Faye (Reinhart) Beyer, and Jodi (Brian) Fero; and beloved dog, Diesel.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Otis and Lena Glenna, Wilfred and Laina Blom, Gerald Hudson, and Adeline and Robert Finke.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Michael from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in River Falls. The following day, Saturday, April 9, 2022, a visitation will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later time. Memorials preferred to the family.
