Michael Joseph Regnier

Michael Joseph Regnier, age 61 of Hager City WI, died on Monday, January 25, 2021 following a short bout with cancer. Mike was born January 28, 1959 in Redwood Falls MN to parents Donald and Ida (Rohlik) Regnier. Mike attended school there, graduating from Redwood Falls High School. He furthered his education at Canby Area Vo-Tech Institute where he earned a degree in Truck Diesel Mechanics. Mike worked for many years as a truck driver, and had an affinity for Peterbilt rigs. In recent years had been employed with the City of Red Wing. His work days may have included a Mountain Dew or two, but he was a hard worker who took pride in a job well done.

Outside of work, Mike enjoyed the things in life that further fueled his love for the outdoors: deer hunting, pheasant hunting, fishing, and of course, cutting wood. With a strong mechanical aptitude, he was also pretty handy at fixing all kinds of things. Mike was also a sports fan who enjoyed watching his sons play baseball, playing softball in his younger years, and being a dedicated Minnesota Vikings fan. Though his time on earth was cut short, Mike proudly earned the title of “grandpa” this past December.

Mike is survived by his sons, Tyler (Abby) Regnier, and Zach (Katie) Regnier; his granddaughter, Vaya; his brothers, Gary, Glen, Pat, and Rick; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ida; and his sister, Beverly.

In accordance with Mike’s wishes, he will be cremated, and a gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
