Michael Netz Senior

Michael Steven Netz Sr., age 68 of Roberts, died Sunday, July 21, 2019 at his home. Mike was born March 24, 1951 in Rice Lake, WI, the son of Curtis and Marion (Siewert) Netz. He grew up in Rice Lake and graduated from Rice Lake High School, Class of 1969. Mike was united in marriage to Sandra Ballou on June 30, 1973 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI, and the couple were blessed with three children. He grew up and worked on a family farm prior to working as a cement finisher. In the early 80s, the family moved to Roberts, WI, where Mike continued with cement work and construction.

Mike was fond of spending time with his family, but also really loved his truck. He was extremely handy, and enjoyed tinkering on cars and tractors in his younger days, and came to love westerns as he grew older. Mike was very charismatic and would talk to anyone that would listen, but he was extremely honest and did not refrain from using inappropriate language. He was delighted to indulge in his favorite snacks: chocolate ice-cream and popcorn.

Mike will remain in the heart of his wife of 46 years, Sandy; daughters, Marissa (Troy) Petersen of Hastings, MN and Lacey (James) Jafolla of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Alex and Joe Petersen, and Lauren Netz; siblings, Pat (Melanie) Netz, Dan (Jo) Netz, and Jeff (Jeanie Smith) Netz; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael “Micke” Netz, Jr., his parents; and siblings, Sharon Wagner and David Netz.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson. Interment will be private.
