Michael O’Hare

Michael P. O’Hare, age 74, of Webster, WI, formerly of Hudson, WI, Amery, WI, and Stillwater, MN, passed away on December 28, 2016 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Mike was born on July 2, 1942 in Rockford, IL, the son of Edward and Lillian (Erlitz) O’Hare. Their family moved to Somerset, WI, where he attended grade school and graduated from Somerset High School. After his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served during the Korean War with the 101st Airborne Division.

Upon returning from the Army, he began his career as an electrical draftsman, working at companies within the Twin Cities metro and St. Croix County including: Honeywell, 3M, Doboy Packaging Machinery, American Hoist & Derrick Company.

Mike was united in marriage to Sharon Kult on February 11, 2015 in Burnet County, and was blessed to add five step-children to his family.

Aside from his career, Mike was an avid outdoorsmen who treasured time spent in his deer stand hunting or in his ice shanty ice fishing on Upper Red Lake and Yellow Lake. He also loved to share his passion with his children, frequently taking them on camping trips while they were growing up, and even going on some camping adventures with Sharon more recently. He also enjoyed his time cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Mike was a member of the Siren American Legion as well as the Siren Lions Club, serving as their past president.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children: Tim (Louise) O’Hare of Osceola, WI and Shannon O’Hare (Dan Kemper) of Hudson, WI; grandchildren: Kyle, Ian, and Anna; great-grandson, Bennett; sister, Suzanne (Tom) Germain of Somerset, WI; step-children: Deborah (Curt) Weimer of Palisade, MN, Berton (Jackie) Kult of West St. Paul, MN, Glen (Linda) Kult of Alexandria, MN, Keith Kult of St. Croix Falls, WI, and Brian Kult of Webster, WI; along with many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Mike’s family will be having a private family service in celebration of his life.
