Michael “Mick” L. Weidner

June 19, 1950 – February 15, 2026

Mick’s 75 years of life were cut short as cancer suddenly took over. He passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at home in the presence of loved ones.

Mick grew up in South Dakota. The family moved to Hopkins, Minnesota, where Mick graduated from high school. He attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, graduating with a degree in Religion. He played bass guitar in Twin Cities bands; however, realizing he might need to earn a living, he went back to school for electronics.

He lived and worked in Seattle, Washington, for several years. Upon his return to the Twin Cities, he met and married Rachel Iverson and moved to Beldenville, Wisconsin. Mick worked at Viking Electronics in Hudson, Wisconsin, for almost 40 years.

His joys in life were Rachel, his children Nathaniel and Kristen, and later their families. He also loved music, travel, hiking, and in retirement enjoyed yard work, technology, and grilling.

Mick is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, Rachel; children Nate (Beth) and Kristen (Matthew) Strader; grandchildren Dean, Drew, and Evelyn; step-mother Dianne; sisters Sharry (Bill Carter), Wendy (Howard Bills), and Lyn Alwin (Denny Dahoff); sister-in-law Becky Iverson; brother-in-law Al (Kathy) Iverson; and nieces and nephews Alysia, Justin, Jenna, Emily, Lily, Conrad, and Julia.

Mick was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Marilyn Weidner, and niece, Ryanna.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 14, 2026 at the O’Connell Family Chapel; 225 South Third St River Falls, WI 54022 from 11:00am – 1:00pm, with a time of sharing at 12:00pm.

Mick was always seen wearing jeans, so guests are encouraged to wear jeans to his memorial. Memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the River Falls Free Clinic
