Mildred Eileen Weiss, 95 of Hudson, WI, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Christian Community Home, Hudson, WI.

Mildred was born in Pierce County on July 22, 1920. She was the 2nd oldest daughter of Ed and Mary (Mann) Matzek. She attended school in Diamond Bluff and River Falls. On December 18, 1937 she was united in marriage to Howard Weiss in River Falls. To this union six children were born. After their marriage they farmed for many years, first in the town of Kinnickinnic and then Pleasant Valley. Mildred enjoyed entertaining the family on holidays, or any other occasion, baking and making their favorite foods. Another activity that she loved was dancing.

Mildred was an active member of the Woodside Church, helping with many church suppers and other activities. She worked as a nursing assistant at the Baldwin Care Center for eleven years.

Mildred was a member of Ezekiel Lutheran Church, River Falls, WI.

She is survived by her children: James (Kay) Weiss, Baldwin, WI, Kenneth Weiss, Stillwater, MN, Bonnie (Marshall) Fuhrman, Elk Mound, WI, Randall (Marlene) Weiss, Hudson, WI, and Roxanne (Doug) Sundet, Hudson, WI.

13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter.

Two brothers and one sister: Pat Matzek, Mary Jo Kosiek, and Butch Matzek.
She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was her husband Howard, son Duane, parents Ed and Mary Matzek, brothers Robert and Buster Matzek, and sisters Lora Miller, Betty Hanson, and Helen Ames.

Funeral services for Mildred will be at 11:00am, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Ezekiel Lutheran Church, Burial will be in the Woodside Cemetery, Baldwin, WI. A luncheon will follow the funeral at Ezekiel Lutheran Church. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Saturday.
