Mindy J. Ramberg

August 21, 1986 — September 16, 2025

Hammond

Our community has lost a remarkable teacher and advocate for our children, as Mindy Jean Ramberg, age 39, of Hammond, passed away on September 16, 2025, as the result of a bee sting. Mindy touched the lives of countless students and colleagues.

She was born on August 21, 1986, in Menomonie, Wisconsin, the daughter of Steven and DiAnn (Frank) Rudiger. Mindy attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Elementary School before graduating from Menomonie High School in the Class of 2005. Growing up, she loved to play “school” with her older sisters, which inspired her to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Coaching from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls. While there, she was a standout softball player, earning All-Conference honors for three years and setting home run records. She also lettered all four years in tennis.

Mindy’s greatest “home run” came on October 8, 2016, when she married Scott Ramberg at Coyland Creek in rural Frederic. Their union was blessed with two adorable daughters, Maeve Lois and Molly Nancy.

She continued her education at St. Mary’s University in Winona, earning her master’s degree in Education. Mindy loved teaching and shaping young minds. She began her career sixteen years ago with the St. Croix Central School District, where she taught fifth grade ever since. She had a special gift for making her students feel heard, nurtured, and inspired to be their best selves.

As beloved as she was in the classroom, Mindy was even more cherished at home. Being a wife and mother brought her the greatest joy. She grew up loving camping and found deep fulfillment in camping trips with her family. Kayaking brought her peace, and entertaining friends brought her joy—always with plenty of snacks for everyone. She had a unique way of making others feel important and valued, and her warm, contagious smile lit up every room she entered.

Mindy was actively involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters and was a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hammond, where she served on the endowment and scholarship committees.

She is survived by her loving husband, Scott; daughters, Maeve and Molly; parents, Steven (DiAnn) Rudiger; sisters, Tina (Ryan) Karsten and Heidi (Lewis) Bjork; mother and father in-law, Brian (Joan) Ramberg; brother and sister in-law Jeff (Marissa) Ramberg and Emily (Trinity) Johnson; nephews and nieces, ConLee, Rudi, Braxton, Oliver, Jasper, Emil, Caden, Carson, Teigen, Adeline, Arianna; maternal grandparents, Richard and Nancy Frank; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and countless students who loved and admired her.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Eugene and Mavis Rudiger; and her grandparents-in-law, Alfred and Doris Ramberg, and Melvin and Lois Florer; and uncle Lee Rudiger.

A Celebration of Life honoring Mindy's kindness, wisdom, and dedication to youth will be held on Sunday, September 28th, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at St. Croix Central High School. A private service will follow, with burial at Rush River Cemetery.

In honor of Mindy’s vibrant spirit, the family kindly invites guests to wear bright colors or their favorite team’s apparel to the service.

Please keep Scott, Maeve, Molly, and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers. Memorials are preferred and will be used to support and raise her beloved children.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin.
