Nancy Park

d. March 29, 2017

Nancy Hancock Park, age 81 of Baldwin WI, died on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Baldwin Care Center. Nancy was born June 6, 1935 in Tulsa OK to parents Charles Wesley and Laura Pearl (Dunn) Hancock. After graduating high school, Nancy earned her Bachelors degree in Business from Oklahoma State University, and later pursued her Masters degree at the University of North Dakota. On September 2, 1953, she would be united in marriage to Phil Park at a ceremony in Lawrence KS. Their union in marriage would be blessed with over 63 years of marriage, five children, and two generations of grandchildren.

Nancy worked as a Senior Tax Accountant for Farm Credit Services, and was highly regarded in her line of work. When many women were struggling to make gains in the work force, Nancy held a supervisory role in a very male dominated profession. She started tax work in Mandan ND in 1983, and retired in 2001. She didn’t stay retired long, working again for AgStar in Baldwin from 2002-2010. Outside of work, Nancy was an avid reader who enjoyed doing lots of needlework, knitting, and cross-stitching. Nancy also loved to fish! If ever near the water, Nancy could be found with a fishing pole in her hand, and grandchildren by her side. She will be missed dearly.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Phil; children, Peri Lee (Jim) Pearson, Phillip Yeargain Park, and Patina (Robert) Park Zink; grandchildren, Robert (Monicka) Dura, Katie (Randall) Thompson, Tyler Pearson, Laura Pearson, Gerry Zink, Gabe Zink, Joseph Cocherell, Kris (Rich) Cleary, James (Angie) Pearson, Erik Pearson, and Erin Pearson; and twelve great-grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Phillip Todd; and son, Charles Timothy.

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Nancy Hancock Park will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the First United Presbyterian Church, 1650 8th Avenue in Baldwin WI, with Pastor Barbara Ann Keely officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials honoring Nancy may be directed to the First United Presbyterian Church of Baldwin WI.
