Nancy Sanda Christianson

Nancy Ruth Sanda was born on October 10th, 1958 at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota to parents George and Dorothy Sanda in Moorhead, MN.  During her upbringing, the family moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin before later moving to Minnetonka, MN.

Upon graduation from Minnetonka High School, Nancy enrolled and graduated with Honors at Gustavus Adolphus College in pursuit of a career in medicine as a Registered Nurse. Upon graduation she began work as a GYN nurse at the University of Minnesota. 

During her time there, she happened to meet her future husband Lee. About a year later they were married on August 5th, 1989 and she moved to Baldwin where her husband lived. Two years later their only child Adam was born.

After leaving the U of M she worked for Minnesota Oncology in Woodbury, MN. so as to be closer to home in commuting distance and to spend more time with family. Nancy retired in early 2023 mainly due to illness from Covid vaccines that were mandated by her employer.

Over the last few years she's had to deal with many medical issues that sapped her energy, left her mostly disabled and in the care of her husband. On August 8th, she was admitted to the local hospital then transferred to the excellent Region's Hospital in St. Paul where they did everything they could for her but her body finally failed her and she passed on August 19th.

Nancy was an excellent nurse and was loved by those who worked with her over the years. She was always in contact with her college friends, nurses and family members and valued their friendships.  She is survived by her husband Lee, son Adam and his wife Mallory and granddaughter Sadie.

A funeral service for Nancy will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at O’Connell Funeral Home in Baldwin, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.

Following the service, Nancy’s family warmly invites all to join them for a continued celebration of her life at Phoenix Grill & Event Center, 2095 10th Ave, Baldwin, WI 54002.
