Norbert John Fisher

Norbert John Fisher, 89, of River Falls, WI passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, January 11, 2019, surrounded by family, friends and his favorite music. His parents, John and Sophie (Placzek) Fisher welcomed him into this world on May 24, 1929 in River Falls.
On October 27, 1953, Norbert married Anna Christensen in River Falls. Together they raised three children, Cynthia, Steven and Kathleen. Norbert and Anna lived and worked in River Falls their entire lives. Norb worked at Kolpak (formerly Vollrath) Refrigeration for 35 years and then at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls for 10 years before retiring.
Norb’s hobbies included small engine repair, woodworking, spending time at their family cabin, hunting, fishing, volunteering for many organizations in the River Falls community, spending time with his family and going to auctions and garage sales.
Norb is preceded in death by his wife, Anna; son, Steven; his parents, John and Sophie Fisher; sister, Mary Jane Johnson.
He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Cynthia (Collin) Evenson, Kathleen (Robert) Bennett; daughter-in-law, Laura (David) Thompson; grandchildren, Melissa (Jeremiah) Johnson, Sever (Amber) Evenson, Derek Fisher, Leah (Jeff) Case, Zachary Thompson, Brandilyn Bennett, Travis Bennett; great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Malakye, Meredith and Finley Evenson, Damekah Fisher, Autumn and Oliver Case, Alex and Riley Johnson; sisters, Patricia (Bud) Cooper, Audrey (Tom) Fisher; brother, Roman Fisher; brother-in-law, Charles (Marie) Christensen; many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial for Norbert will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 211 East Division Street, River Falls with visitation one hour prior to Mass, at the church. Interment with full military rites at St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery, River Falls, provided by River Falls American Legion Fletcher Pechacek Post #121.
