Omar B. Anderson

Omar B. Anderson, 93, died March 17, 2017 at the VA Hospital, Minneapolis. A 43-year resident of The Veterans’ Home, Omar served in the U.S. Army in Germany during WW2. He loved watching the Twins, Gophers and Vikings’ games, and listening to Broadway Musicals. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church Choir, the Minneapolis Barbershop Male Chorus, and the Vets’ Residence Choir.

Omar was preceded in death by his parents, Jennie and Olaf B. Anderson, and siblings Charlotte Starr, Jeane Anderson, and Phyllis Smith. Surviving are nine nieces and nephews, and families. Omar’s family wishes to extend appreciation to the caring staff at Minnesota Vets’ Home Building 6, 3rd floor, his ”extended”” family, for their love and care throughout his residency there.

Memorial Service 10:30AM Friday, March 24 (visitation 10-10:30AM) at the MN Veterans Home, 5101 Minnehaha Ave., Minneapolis, MN. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
