Pat West, age 89, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at Regions Hospital, surrounded by family.
Pat was born on February 27, 1937, in What Cheer, Iowa to Cecil and Viola (Woods) Cranston. She grew up with strong family values that would shape the way she lived her life — always placing others before herself and offering unwavering love and support to those around her.
On August 25, 1958, Pat married James West, the love of her life. Together they shared more than 67 wonderful years of marriage, building a life rooted in devotion, partnership, and family. In 1974, Pat and James moved to Hudson, where they established their home and became deeply connected to the community. Pat was a loving wife, dedicated mother, and the steady heart of her family. She devoted herself selflessly to raising her children while supporting her husband and his business endeavors every step of the way.
Later, Pat worked alongside her husband at West Industries Inc., where together they helped build a successful manufacturing business. Their strong partnership in business reflected the teamwork and love they shared throughout their marriage. Side by side, they faced life with determination, humor, and deep respect for one another.
After settling in the Hudson area, Pat became known for her warmth and kindness. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen and welcomed. Whether through friendships, community involvement, or simple everyday conversations, Pat was truly a bright light to those around her. She loved spending time in Florida, soaking up the sunshine, boating, golfing, and making memories with family and friends. She was also a devoted fan of Jimmy Buffett concerts, where her fun-loving spirit always shined.
Above all else, Pat was the “wingnut” that held her family together. Her love, strength, generosity, and unwavering presence created a foundation that will continue to guide those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, partnership, and unconditional love that will never be forgotten.
Pat is survived by her loving husband, James; her children, Michael (Kris), Randall (Karen), and Lynn (Greg); her grandchildren, Matthew (Allison), Zachary (Alexa), Tyler, and Ally; and her great-grandchildren, Mileena, Avalon, Brooklynn, Ayla, and Easton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Viola and her brother Jerry.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at O'Connell Family Funeral Homes in Hudson, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to Christian Community Homes and Services, Hudson, WI.
