Paul Joseph Janisch

Paul Joseph Janisch, age 61, died on Wednesday evening, September 25, 2019 at the Spring Valley Health and Rehab Center. Paul was born February 21, 1958 in Red Wing MN to parents Clair and Anna (Kordosky) Janisch.

Paul grew up with his many nieces and nephews, and was admired by his siblings for not having enemies in this world. Paul enjoyed the little things, such as playing cards, paging through magazines, and spending time on the swing set. In younger years, Paul attended church with his family. He lived on the family farm where he was cared for by his mother until her passing in 2009. Paul then became a resident at Spring Valley Health and Rehab, where he was well cared for these past ten years.

Paul is survived by his siblings, David Janisch, Marlene (Norman) Holmstadt, Phyllis (Todd) Severud, and Barbara (Jerry) Erickson; two generations of nieces and nephews; special niece, Gina and her children, Lillianna, Austin, and Brevick. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Clair and Anna; and his nephews, Joe and David.

Mass of Christian Burial for Paul Janisch will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 231 W Woodworth St in Ellsworth WI, with Rev. Fr Eric Dadson officiating. Visitation will be held at church beginning at 11:00am. Following Mass, Paul will be laid to rest in the family plot at Lost Creek Cemetery. His nieces and nephews will serve as his casketbearers. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home of Ellsworth WI. 715-273-4421
