Woodville

Paul Conrad Ramberg, 87, passed away on April 24, 2026, at Park View Home in Woodville, Wisconsin. Paul was born to Adolph and Edna (Torgerson) Ramberg on October 25, 1938, in Baldwin, Wisconsin. He lived in the Baldwin area his entire life. He attended the Riverside school for grades 1-8, then went on to attend Baldwin High School and graduated in 1956. He graduated with honors in 1960 from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. While at college, Paul met and fell in love with Barb Wallen.

Paul enlisted with the Army Reserve and attended basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where his crew worked with heavy equipment. He continued his military service until 1968. One of the projects during this time was to construct float bridges for military and training use.

Paul managed the family dairy farm, typically milking between 50-60 head of Holstein dairy cattle. He expertly maintained all the farming equipment and was known to be able to fix anything. Farming the 309 acres was his passion, and a well-chosen profession.

On October 28, 1961, he was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Wallen, they were blessed with three children: Dawn, DeAnn, and David. He made sure to involve his children in as many farming activities as they were able and passed on his strong work ethic to them.

Paul’s faith in his Savior Jesus Christ was evident in the wonderful way he lived his life and helped so many people. Paul was an active member of the Woodside Church which later merged to become Peace Lutheran Church. He served as president, deacon, trustee, usher and communion assistant. Both Paul and Barb were youth ministry parents for a few years and sang in the church choir for over 40 years. During his retirement, Paul became sexton for the Peace Cemetery, later adding Woodside to his responsibilities. As groundskeeper for both cemeteries for twenty-five years, Paul noted “he had a lot of people under him.”

Paul was elected Eau Galle Town Board Supervisor in the 1960s. From 1972-1992 he served on the Farmer’s Elevator Board, usually as president. Paul and Barb were charter organizers of the St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity in 1996. Paul served as a board member, construction volunteer, and site supervisor for one of the home builds. Paul and Barb were recognized for 25 years of service to Habitat for Humanity. Paul also served as president, executive board, and building committee member for Thrivent, and in 2008 received the “Volunteer Excellence Award” in the retiree category.

For fun, Paul enjoyed singing with the Dutch Masters Men’s Barbershop Choir from 1985-1989. Paul and Barb loved traveling, going to all 50 states and 50 different countries. Gatherings with family were always a highlight, he loved playing games with the children and grandchildren.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Edna (Torgerson) Ramberg, and brothers-in-law, Art Jacobson and Chuck Wallen.

Paul is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barb; Children: Dawn (Bill) Tunison, DeAnn (Bill) Gehn, David (Tara Ingli) Ramberg; Grandchildren: Emily and Alex; Andrew, Valerie, and Katina; Patricia and Maxwell; great grandson: Braxton; sister Elaine Jacobson, brother Stanley (May) Ramberg, sister-in-law Carol Wallen; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Paul’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the Parkview and Adoray staff. Thank you to O'Connell Funeral Homes for taking care of the arrangements. They are also deeply grateful for all the prayers, support, and kind words from their pastors, church members, friends, and family.
