Peter Berner

Peter Berner, age 64, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at his home in New Richmond, WI. Peter was born on June 5, 1955 in Beloit, WI, to parents Harold and Dolores “Dolly” Berner. He graduated from Beloit Memorial High School before continuing his education at Blackhawk Tech and earned his degree in Accounting. Peter worked as Head Foundry Engineer and pattern maker. Peter was a hunter and fisher though and through who loved being up at his cabin on Lake Mille Lacs. He was also a big sports fan and was loyal to all the WI teams, especially the Green Bay Packers, with the exception of the Twins. Peter was creative and enjoyed giving old things new life, whether that be remodeling the cabin, or fixing up stuff he would find in garage sales. He loved his family and would always go cheer on his grandkids in all their activities. Peter will remain in the hearts of his Children Timothy Berner, Christine (David) Bader, and Dena (Chad) Raymond; grandchildren Jackson, Austyn, Kole, Grace, Kaelyn, Alyson, and Claire; significant other Barb Goodmanson; siblings Marcy (Don) Reedy, Jeff (Jeanne) Berner, Brian (Lauri) Berner, Wendy (Kevin) Rauscher and brother in law Jerry Gunning. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dolores; wife Melinda; son Scott, and sister Sandy Gunning. A celebration of Peter’s life will be at Riverbend Venue in River’s Edge Resort; 1820 Raleigh Rd, New Richmond, WI on Thursday, September 5, 2019. There will be gathering of family and friends from 1-3pm and a service at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family.
