Peter Schommer

Peter Allen Schommer, of Ellsworth, WI, passed away peacefully at his home on January 4, 2021, at the age of 69. Peter was born to Jim and Delores (Kinneman) Schommer on April 1, 1951 in River Falls, Wisconsin.  After graduating from High School, Peter joined the United States Navy and served 2 years on the USS Long Beach as a marine mechanic.

Peter was a jack-of-all-trades. He could fix and build just about anything. He always had may projects to work on, and many times they didn’t get finished for a while. Peter enjoyed the peacefulness of the outdoors, being in the woods hunting and on the water fishing.  Family time was what Peter cherished the most, with many weekends spent at the family cabin in Bone Lake.

Peter will remain in the hearts of his loving children, Peter Schommer, Brittany Schommer and Philip (Mercedes) Schommer; his grandchildren: Samantha, Hailey, Emery and Marlene; siblings: Mike (Cheryl) Schommer, Karen (Rick) Keys, Linda (Cal) Pechacek, Barb (Roman) Hendrickson, Diane (Dan) Richmond, Doreen (Doug) Eichman, Jim (Roxy) Schommer; along with many nieces and nephews.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Delores Schommer.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place 2:00 – 5:00 PM Friday, January 8, 2021 at Ridgetop, W10516 US Hwy 10, Prescott. Internment will take place at a later date at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
