Phyllis Annette Breaker

Phyllis Annette Breaker went home to Jesus on August 12, 2025 at age 89. She was greeted in heaven by her beloved daughter, Cathy, and husband, Donald.

Phyllis was born to Arnold and Norma (Koerble) Hansen on September 15, 1935 in Kewaskum, WI, growing up and graduating highs school in West Bend, WI.

She relocated to attend training at Theda Clark nursing school in Neenah, WI to achieve her practical nursing certificate. It was here that she cultivated a sisterhood of lifelong friends. Together they shared many adventures and laughs throughout their decades of friendship!

While nursing at Theda Clark, a young man hospitalized with a work injury was prescribed only single nurses for his care. That young man, Donald Elmer Breaker, became her husband in 1956 and they shared 68 years of marriage together. They made their home in Neenah where they raised three children and farmed with Don’s father and brother.

Phyllis was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and volunteered with The Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother. While helping many, one of her accomplishments was to see Don become an active member in the church as well. She enjoyed sharing cards and letters with family and friends and also spent many hours gardening, cross-country skiing, bicycling, traveling, entertaining and visiting with friends over a game of cards.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, husband, and parents as well as her brothers and sisters-in-law Jim Hansen, Gene (Juanita) Hansen, and Richard (Carol) Breaker plus Don’s parents, Arnold and Alice Breaker.

Phyllis leaves behind: sons Scott (Glenna) and Steve (Betsy) Breaker, grandchildren Dr. Jacob (Kylee) and Henry (Donna) Breaker and Alice Breaker, plus Jacob and Kylee’s sons Kalin and Jameson Breaker.

A graveside service will be held on September 6th at 1pm, Clayton Cemetery, 7890 County Rd T, Larsen, WI
