Phyllis R. Ross

Phyllis R. (Burton) Ross, Age 84, of Somerset, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Deerfield Senior Housing in New Richmond.

Phyllis was born October 21, 1929 in Boyceville to parents Floyd and Bessie (Canfield) Burton. She attended Chimney Rock Elementary and graduated as Salutatorian of her class from Boyceville High School. After graduation, Phyllis began Flight Attendant training at a school in Kansas City. She was united in marriage to Harry Ross, and together they moved to Corpus Christi, TX where Harry was stationed with the Navy. They returned to the New Richmond and Somerset area, where they raised their son, Michael. Phyllis worked as a secretary at 3M. After retirement, she enjoyed helping others in her community and working in her garden. Phyllis is a lifetime member of the New Richmond United Methodist Church.

Phyllis is survived by her granddaughter; Michelle (Scott) Beauvais, and their son Breckin; grandson, Michael Ross, Jr., and his children, Kayla Ennis, Mandy Ennis, Tyler Ross and Logan Ross, their mother Theresa Ennis; and niece, Lucinda Schaffner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Ross; son, Michael Ross, Sr.; and brother, Donald Burton.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM Thursday, April 24, 2014, with a visitation from 10-11AM, at the New Richmond United Methodist Church, 209 East 2nd St., New Richmond, WI. Interment Greenwood Cemetery in Emerald, WI.
