Renay Edna Briese age 83 of Roberts, passed away November 10, 2025 at the Baldwin Care Center.
She was born August 10, 1942 in Glenwood City to Rockwell Sr. and Edna (Brummer) Moe. Renay grew up on a farm in rural Glenwood and attended grade school in Emerald. She graduated from Glenwood City High School.
Following High School, Renay moved to St. Paul, where she worked at Brown and Bigelow- a card factory-, went to the local Soda Fountain, and attended dances. It was at a dance that she met the love of her life, Allen Briese. They were married on August 11, 1979 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Baldwin. Al and Renay made their first home in the Twin Cities. They were blessed with the birth of their son Daniel, who became the center of her world. It was then that she became a stay-at-home mom. A few years later, they moved to a farm in rural Roberts.
Renay enjoyed lawn work, including gardening flowers and vegetables. She was devoted to her family and would always have a meal ready for them when they finished their farm work. Renay was part of a close-knit family and loved being with her siblings and nieces and nephews. She especially enjoyed spending time with her husband and going for coffee and other outings with him. Renay was a member of Cross Lutheran Church in Roberts and the Church family became an important part of her life. As her family grew, she became a grandma to two granddaughters. Renay was always excited to see them, go to their events, and win them stuffed animals playing BINGO.
Renay was an artist and liked drawing cartoons. She loved anything with birds; bird houses and bird figurines. Working on word searches kept her busy.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Allen; parents; and brother Richard.
She will be dearly missed by her son Daniel (Melissa); granddaughters Savannah and Hayley; brother Rocky (Cheryl) Moe; sister Rochelle (Lennie) Zillmer; and her nieces and nephews
Funeral Service 11 AM Friday, November 14th at Cross Lutheran Church, Roberts. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial Warren Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
The family would like to thank all of the care givers that have taken care of Renay in the past years.
