Richard G. Peiffer

Richard Peiffer, age 86 of Hudson, passed away January 11, 2017 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Richard was born February 22, 1930 in St. Paul, MN, the son of Frank and Marie Peiffer. He graduated from St. Agnes School, the Class of 1948. Richard was united in marriage on August 18, 1951 in Santa Maria, CA to Betty Joan Peterson. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Robert, Linda, Richard and Holly. Richard proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He worked as a flight engineer with the Air National Guard for 38 years, until his retirement in 1986 He also worked for Northwest Airlines, and retired after 15 years of service.

In his younger years, Richard was an avid long blade skater and bowler. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, tending to his yard, and gardening. Richard was also a proud member of the St. Patrick’s Knights of Columbus.

Richard will remain in the hearts of his children, Robert (Jene) Peiffer of Myrtle Beach, SC, Linda (Brian) Truesdell of Mendota Heights, MN, Richard Peiffer of Cottage Grove, MN and Holly Jones of Hudson; 9 grandchildren: Ryan (Natalie) Peiffer of Greenville, SC, Brittany Peiffer of NYC, NY, Heather (Kurt) Nathe of Mendota Heights, MN, Corey Truesdell of Mendota Heights, MN and Dustin (Tracy) Truesdell of Mendota Heights, MN, Lisa Peiffer of Cottage Grove, MN, Morgan (Jason) Henry, of Savage, MN, Mackenzie Jones of Inver Grove Heights, MN and Michael Jones of Saint Louis Park, MN; 6 great grandchildren: Stella, Carson, Noah, Olivia, James and Olivia. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; 2 brothers, Robert & Frank “Bud”; sister, Babe; and his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 17th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine Street, Hudson, with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Interment will take place at Willow River Cemetery of Hudson. Richard’s grandchildren will lovingly serve as pallbearers. Funeral services are entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
