Robert Wayne Harwell, born April 7, 1955, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, January 14.
Bob was raised in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1973. He later resided in River Falls, Wisconsin. A lifelong hard worker, Bob owned and operated B&B Drywall, working side by side with his father, Robert “Bob” Harwell Sr., for over 50 years. His dedication, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic were a source of pride to him and his family.
Bob was an avid sports fan who loved watching many different sports. In his younger years, he was an enthusiastic bowler, softball player, and golfer, and he spent many years coaching softball, sharing his love of the game with others. He also enjoyed relaxing with a dark beer or a good bourbon, especially with his buddy Earl!
Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Bob was always cracking jokes and making people laugh. He cherished time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, high school buddies, and the many friendships he formed over the years.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Harwell; his children Janessa Mertes (Jeremy), Payton Harwell (Taylor), Brian (Lyndsay), and Sarah Norton (Ethan); his grandchildren Joe (Angelina), Noah (Olivia), Lilly, Faith, Brynn, Chloe, Lucy, Lucas, Kirby & Everett whom he loved dearly; and his brother, James Harwell. He is also survived by many friends and loved ones who will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace Lorraine Harwell and Robert John Harwell; Wife, Cindy Harwell; Mother-in-Law Joan Schuster.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 26, from 3:00–6:30 p.m., with a service to follow, at O’Connell Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St. Hudson. Please refrain from perfumes and colognes due to family allergy.
