Robert Joseph Jaris

Robert (Badger Bob) Jaris, of Hudson, formerly of Brookfield, died following a stroke Saturday, March 7 with his daughters by his side.

He was born August 16, 1933 in Milwaukee, the son of Anthony and Donna (Krotchie) Jaris and was a proud graduate of Juneau High School.

On May 28, 1960 he was married to Monica Jaris and enjoyed 40 years of marriage until her death in 2000.

Bob was a fiercely competitive athlete playing softball through his 40s, golfing into his 80s and playing tennis into his 90s. Bob had an extensive knowledge of sports facts and anecdotes and a love/hate relationship of the Packers. He was also a fan of the Badgers, Brewers and Marquette Basketball.

Bob enjoyed sports, parades, marching bands, music, the Wauwatosa Jaycees and cruising town in his '64 Corvair convertible.

Survivors are his daughters, Valerie (Jim) Romansky of Hudson and Holly (Ron) Mezera of New Richmond and son, Craig of Georgetown, TX; grandchildren Miles Jaris, Katy and Joe Romansky, Megan (Kyle) Mezera Zeman, Alex (Celeste) Mezera and Sienna Jaris; great grandchildren Huxley and Griffin Jaris and Allis and Beorn Mezera Zeman.

Bob was predeceased by his much adored wife Monica, siblings Dorothy (Jerry) Faken and Tony (Betty) Jaris.

Raise a Miller Lite to Bob's long life, well lived.

Private services were held. Memorials can be sent to the Hudson Public Library or St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hudson, WI.
