Robert H. Olson (Bob), of Glenwood City, WI passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
Bob was born and raised near Deer Park, WI where he attended grade school in Cylon. He later attended high school in New Richmond where he met the love of his life, Susie Bixby. Bob and Susie were married on September 11, 1965. They lived in Minnesota for a short time then moved back to New Richmond where they raised their two children, Steve and Shelley. Bob worked at Doboy/Bosch as a machinist for around 40 years before retiring. In 2005 they moved to Glenwood City and built the home where they currently reside.
Bob was a great husband, dad, grandpa, and great grandpa. He gave of his time and talents freely. He was a fixer of everything. Anything his family needed fixed or built, he was on it. No job was too big or complicated. He would figure it out. He was a sportsman his whole life. From childhood on he loved to hunt and fish. He spent countless hours in the woods or on the lake. He passed that love of the outdoors onto his family teaching them all he knew. He spent many hours in the yard helping with target practice, many hours in the woods patiently teaching how to hunt responsibility, and many hours on the lake baiting hooks and setting tip-ups. He enjoyed it all and his family will cherish those memories forever.
Bob is proceeded in death by his and his grandson and hunting buddy Casey Lavender Wink; his parents Howard and Bernice Olson, his brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Maggie Olson, and his sister and brother-in-law Pat and Don Torrance and brother-in-law Francis Obermueller. Bob is survived by his wife of 59 years Susie Olson of Glenwood City; son Steve Olson of Deer Park, daughter Shelley (Dean) Wink; grandson Jordan (Nikki) Wink, granddaughter Samantha (Austin) Moe; great granddaughter Blake Wink and great grandsons Barrett and Ryder Moe all of Glenwood City.
