Robin Peskar, age 60, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion to others.
Born the daughter of Douglas and Kathleen Carr, Robin was raised in Farmington, Minnesota, where she attended local schools. From her earliest years, she showed a gentle spirit and caring heart—qualities that carried her through every role in her life.
After high school, Robin moved to Wisconsin and soon became a devoted mother to three wonderful children. River Falls became the place where she poured her love and energy into raising her family. Robin devoted herself to their growth, joy, and achievements; they were, and will always be, her life’s greatest pride and joy.
Robin began her career with the River Falls School District, working as a paraprofessional at Greenwood Elementary and later at the Renaissance Academy. She was known for her calm presence, patience, and genuine care for every student she met.
Later, her compassionate energy found a new home as a Disability Benefit Specialist with Pierce County Human Services. In this role, Robin’s big heart truly thrived. She formed lasting connections, supported individuals through challenging systems, and made sure every person she worked with felt seen, heard, and cared for.
Robin had a true gift for hospitality. She made meals for every family gathering and opened her home—and her heart—to everyone who walked through the door. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and welcome.
Robin found joy in the simple and meaningful parts of life. Her gentle spirit extended into everything she loved—nurturing gardens full of flowers, enjoying peaceful days of fishing, and turkey hunting. Her faith was an anchor and guiding light; she served as Treasurer for Rush River Lutheran Church, and her devotion threaded through everything she did.
Though her time on earth was far too short, the love she gave, the lives she lifted, and the joy she created will continue to ripple through every person who knew her. Her calm energy, generous spirit, and unwavering faith made her a wonderful woman, a treasured friend, and a devoted mother.
Robin is survived by her children, Daniel Peskar, Sarah (Brandon) Matzek, and Samantha VanSomeren; her partner, Gregory Gaulke; and her cherished grandchildren, Payton and Benjamin VanSomeren, and Brynlee Matzek. She is also survived by her sister, Kristine Carr; her nephew and niece, Dylan Erickson and Faith Owen; and many loved family and friends.
Robin embraced as “children in heart” Heidi (Clint) Riese and Kayla (Derrek) Pedersen, and as “grandchildren in heart,” Colt and Clara Pedersen, and Jordy Riese. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Robin will be deeply missed and always remembered.
