Rodney Allen Gullixson, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN, surrounded by family. Rodney was born on August 15, 1949, the son of Kenneth ‘Bud’ and Jeanette (Fagnan) Gullixson. He attended and graduated from Saint Croix Central High School in 1967; he enlisted in the United States Army shortly after graduation, and served until his honorable discharge in 1970. On July 26, 1969, he was married to Linda Triebold; although their union later dissolved, they were blessed with three sons: Quinton, Chad and Eric.
Rodney worked at Andersen Windows for 15 years. He then became the owner and operator of his own painting business. He was successful at this for over 35 years and enjoyed working in the community he lived in. Places such as the Hudson House and the Octagon House are a few of the well-known icons in the area that were graced by his brush strokes. He took an interest in old cars and trucks, as well as buffing up his knowledge on history. He enjoyed reading, watching old films, and listening to the Rolling Stones.
Rodney was a humble and kind man who loved to spend time with his family, especially around the 4th of July as well as enjoying a good fish fry. Rodney also made sure to be part of his fair share of practical jokes and pranks; he had a wild sense of humor and never experienced a dull moment.
Rodney will remain in the hearts of his children, Quinton, Chad (Tonya), and Eric (Kelly) Gullixson; mother, Jeanette Gullixson (Fagnan); siblings, Steve (Gabby), Randy (Lynn), Stephanie (Marv) Stutz, and Scott (Melanie); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other extended family, and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth ‘Bud’ Gullixson; his infant sister, Rochelle; and grandson, Tyler Lathe.
A Memorial Prayer Service will be held at 3 PM on Monday, May 13, 2019 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin, WI, followed by a Gathering of Family and Friends until 7 PM.
Memorials are preferred.
