Ronald Weikum

Mar 26, 1948 — Jun 14, 2012

Ronald Lee Weikum passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on June 14, 2012 with family and friends at his side at his home in Springfield Township, Woodville, Wisconsin.
Ron accepted his diagnosis of ALS in May 2011 with dignity and faith.  He was born on March 26, 1948 in Marion County, Salem, Oregon to Gladys May (Gerig) and Henry Andrew Weikum.
Ron served honorably aboard the USS Richmond K. Turner during the Vietnam Era, providing pick up and rescue support off the coast of Vietnam.  He then served in the Naval Reserve until September 14, 1972.
On May 14, 1972 Ronald married Linda Reust.  They were blessed with two sons: Robert and Randy.  Ron and Linda later divorced.  On August 28, 2004 Ronald was united in marriage to Nancy (Hamland) Mandehr at their home in Springfield Township by Pastor Keith Anderson.  The considered each other soul mates.
Ronald loved his Lord and his Zion Lutheran Church family.  He cherished the time he spent with youth as "The Science Guy" in Zion's ZAP Program.  His passion was the Joseph's Square group, which he helped create.  It was formed to serve their Savior by making wooden crosses and other items to give freely to others.
He is survived and forever cherished by his wife Nancy of Woodville; his beloved sister Kristy (Larry) Daniels of Oregon; children: Randy and Robert (Jeanette) all of Oregon; Nikoline Mandehr of Woodville; Anne-Liv (Pete) Philen of Eau Claire; Nathan Mandehr of Woodville; Stacie (Roland Yi) Mandehr of Robbinsville, N.J.; and Christy (Sid) Larson of Colfax.  He is forever in the hearts of his grandchildren: Bethany Weikum; Eleanor, Catherine and Julie Yi; Heather Smith; and Skyler, Shawn, and Shane Larson.
Ron was a man of many talents and gifts.  He was a loving husband and father.  He not only "spoke" his faith, he "lived" his faith.  Go in peace Ron, till we meet again.
