Rose M Hove

Rose Marie Hove was born November 3, 1928 in River Falls, WI to Eugene and Margaret (Purfeerst) Schommer. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School through the 8th grade and then Ellsworth High School graduating in 1946. Rose attended Minneapolis School of Business from 1946 to 1947 and became a legal secretary for Ken Swanson. On October 14, 1950 she was united in marriage to Jerome “Joe” Hove and enjoyed 46 years of marriage until his death on March 17, 1997. Rose ran her own very successful “Hove Real Estate” and in 1998 joined St. Croix Realty. She and her companion Dennis Wahlstrom met in 1998. She died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the Regina Care Center in Hastings after a courageous battle with cancer.Rose was an avid and talented golfer and bowler. She excelled at bridge and enjoyed her bridge game with friends. She was an active member of the Ellsworth American Legion Auxiliary.Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene andMargaret; husband, Joe; sister, Dorothy and sister-in-law, Kathy.She is survived by companion, Dennis Wahlstrom of Prescott; brothers, Ralph (Kathryn) Schommer of Maiden Rock, Gene (Jane) Schommer of Prescott and Lee (Margaret Ruby) Schommer of Prescott; sister, Carol (John) Mercord of Prescott; 15 nieces and nephews; 26 great-nieces and great-nephews.
