Roy David Thompson, age 68, of North St. Paul, MN, formerly of Prescott, WI, died August 12, 2016 at The Pillars Hospice in Oakdale, MN. He was born on September 13, 1947 in Baldwin, WI to Roy and Annie (Tainter) Thompson, & raised in Glenwood City, WI. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On August 15, 1970 he was united in marriage to Stephanie Sue Kittleson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Annie; beloved daughter, Jenni Coomer.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Stephanie; twin daughters, Whitney Thompson, Sarah Hosmane; grandchildren, Taylor Brinker, Devan Hosmane; his siblings, Calvin (Connie) Thompson, Arliss (Stephen) Willis, Bonnie Gunderson, Joyce (Denis) Rockman; nieces, grandnieces & grandnephews.
Roy worked at Cenex, Fingerhut & Perlman-Rocque to support his family, but his true love & passion was found in his workshop. There he relished his retirement building & painting Big Dog toolboxes & treasure boxes. He loved old western movies & books, taco Tuesdays & Peanut Buster Parfaits. He also enjoyed long scenic drives & slow leisure walks chatting with friends at the gym. He was an incredible neighbor, devoted friend & all around amazing man, who will be greatly missed.
A memorial service for Roy will be held at 7:00pm Tuesday, August 16th at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Prescott, WI with visitation starting at 5:00pm until the time of the service.
