Ruth Ellen
Greene
January 4, 1933 – March 18, 2026
Ruth Ellen Greene, 93, passed away March 18, 2026, in Red Wing, MN. Ruth was born to Emmett and Margaret(Stinson) Lombard on January 4, 1933, on a farm near Bloomingdale, Wisconsin. She attended grade school in Sugar Grove, WI and high school in Westby, WI.
She met and married the love of her life, Willard Greene. They had four children: Sandra, Mary, Audrey and Mark, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ruth taught Sunday School for several years at her home church. She also loved making quilts for her church and family. Both Ruth and Willard were heavily involved in an active outreach mission, through a bus ministry. This ministry focused on transporting people from surrounding areas to their church services and events.
She was truly in her element when she hosted family gatherings. They were a highlight of her life and her deep love for family showed.
In 1985, Ruth and Willard moved to Rapid City, SD. There, she developed many dear friends within the community and through her attendance at Bethel Assembly of God church. Through her love and talents of quilting and benevolent services, she turned needles and thread into a ministry of comfort.
Ruth and Willard moved to Wisconsin in 2006, settling near Hager City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard, her parents Emmett and Margaret Lombard, brothers and sisters and a daughter, Mary Ply.
