Ruth Von Hoff

Ruth H. VonHoff, age 91 of Hudson WI, died on October 3, 2011 at the Hudson Hospital. Ruth was born on May 7, 1920 in Saint Paul MN to parents Algot and Hilma (Swenson) Anderson. Ruth attended Randolph Heights grade school, and graduated from Mechanic Arts High School, both in Saint Paul. After high school, she also attended Rasmussen Business College. On March 25, 1943, Ruth would be united in marriage to Edward S. VonHoff at the First Lutheran Church in Saint Paul. Their union in marriage would be blessed with three children. Edward would precede her in death in 2006. Ruth worked for a short time as a secretary with both the US Army, and the IRS. However, Ruth was most fond of being a wife, mother, and homemaker, where she could be found tending to her gardens, knitting, watching golf, and watching over her family.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Joan (Robert) Scheffen of Hudson WI, and Cynthia (Roger) Lynn of Hudson WI; and her son, Thomas (Barbara) VonHoff of Allentown PA; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister Betty LaDue of Salt Lake City, UT; as well as many nieces & nephews, other relatives, and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Edward.

A Memorial Service for Ruth VonHoff will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Bethel Lutheran Church, 920 Third Street, Hudson WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will take place at the Union Cemetery in Maplewood MN. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson WI, and the Countryside Crematory. Memorials preferred. www.oconnellfuneralhomes.com
